Dr. Betty Martini Aspartame Awareness - Show #22
September 1, 2008
I’ve been concentrating my efforts this last month on giving you very important information about the dangers of artificial sweeteners because the public has a right to know what they are consuming in diet drinks, energy drinks, and “healthy” foods. Aspartame (Nutrasweet) and Splenda are chemicals that we have been fooled into thinking will help us live longer and healthier lives.
My guest this week is an expert in this field of study and she has made it her life’s mission to lecture and teach people about these dangers. Dr. Betty Martini was very generous with her time this week and shared that these sweeteners are actually precursers for some dangerous diseases, such as Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, hypo- and hyperthyroidism, and seizures.
Dr. Betty also shares hope by telling us it’s possible to eliminate sweeteners from our diets and detox our bodies to avoid the cumulative damage and also what steps you can do to raise awareness of this danger in your own communities during Aspartame Awareness Weekend on September 5-7th.

Hi Diana,
I’ve been on Coast to Coast all night with Doctors Roberts and Walton, James Turner, Atty, Stephen Fox, etc. Still haven’t been to sleep. Swamped with interviews and calls and emails.
I have a Doctors of Humanity for my 18 years of work on aspartame, working free. However, I spent 22 years in the medical field before I did this, and created the first health delivery system in the nation and had 200 physicians working for me.
Just anything they can come up with to try and downplay the truth. Even the medical text, Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic, is dedicated to me as well as another of Dr. Roberts books.
Here is an article about me written years ago by Dr. Roberts in the Townsend Letter for Doctors: http://www.mpwhi.com/super_volunteer_activist.htm
All my best,
Betty
Mega thanks to you and Gearge Noory. Advocates like yourself make listening to late night radio priceless. I have a song I invite you to listen to on My space.com/dosareality We just recorded a song called Greed. I am very much considering creating a song on Aspartame, I will try to make it popular enough to get the message out in a way I know how….God bless you and your comrades in the fight for the sheep as they slowly get slaughtered. The definition of a kook has little to do with their conclusions, but rather with their sources of information. Betty Martini quotes reputable and independent sources, such as The Ecologist, FDA papers, and books by reputable physicians.

I am very surprised and astonished that aspartame can be so deadly, as some “experienced doctors” seem to indicate in their evaluations.
It seems odd, however, that aspartame is to be blamed, since it is proven that our body does not even absorb much of it.
Also, if you were to substitte 1 gram of sugar for aspartame, you would only need 0.04 to 0.001 grams of aspartame to get the same effect. this amount of “toxic” aspartame would be equal to the amount of “toxic” air we breathe in an hour.
Secondly, the amount of formadehyde created from aspartame is EVEN LESS than the amount of formaldehyde naturally found in apples and other heathy foods.
***I would really like to know where these “doctors” attended schooling, and exactly what kind of research was used.
yes, I agree with Carry, I’ve done so many studies at my university in Ontario, and every study has found no real problems with it.
It almost seems more people have reactions to natural things like nuts, or even pure raw cane sugar, though none of those are ever reported or blamed!
many people have been blaming sucralose and caramel artificial sweetener as dangerous and toxic, but they are simply different forms of the same cane sugar!
also I’d like to add that you should read the book “An Apple A Day”
really inspiring and thought-provoking!
Hi Carrie and Tiffany,
I appreciate your input. I know there are always 2 sides (or more) to every story.
However, for me I choose every day to be really careful to eat and drink everything as close to nature as is humanly possible, with emphasis on plants - nuts, seeds, fruits, vegetables, etc.
I am very concerned about the next generation, and feel it is important to help them choose their foods wisely.
When I do have a choice, I prefer to choose something that has not been put together by man.
Why add to the toxic overload each of us have to deal with on a daily basis?
Thanks for listening to my podcast and commenting.
