Food Addiction, Cravings and Emotional Eating

March 4, 2007

I often get questions regarding Food Cravings and Emotions - Emotional Eating.

My friend Lisa deLusignan is a Therapist in Vancouver with many years of helping people with cravings associated with emotional eating.  I am delighted to let you know that Lisa and I got together on Friday and did a 15 minute audio, in which Lisa provides insight and suggestions for you if you crave food in excess when you are stressed.

I would say that I am an emotional eater - and I can have negative self talk -  about myself - and being too much of a perfectionist, and then beat myself up.  I  catch myself earlier now than I used to.  We all need to have support.

Often emotional eating is connected to what you don’t want to feel.  Do you numb your feelings with food?  Our attitudes and thoughts and emotions are so intertwined with our cravings.

Lisa provides you with her phone number if you would like personal one-on-one counselling by phone.  I will let you know when Lisa gets her website set up.  You can also contact me through my form here: http://www.diana2.com/contact_me.html if you want to ask me for Lisa’s contact information.
