Healthy Cashew Gravy Recipe

Happy Thanksgiving Canada and USA

Happy Healthy Thanksgiving! Canada, USA Hope you are doing great!

I know many of you come from different parts of the world, and I know the USA Thanksgiving is weeks away, but I thought this was a good time to once again send out my popular and “famous” Cashew Gravy recipe.

Healthy Cashew Gravy Recipe

Here’s the Cashew Gravy recipe that our family has used for years and years. This is wonderful for vegetarian meals, of course, as well as for those who love turkey. So eat healthy!

Blend well:
1 cup cashews (raw)… Note that these are RAW CASHEWS (not roasted and salted)
1 small can mushroom pieces
1 small onion
1 clove garlic (or more)
2 cups water or broth
Add to blender:
1 cup water
2 T. chicken seasoning
2 T. Braggs Aminos (this is healthier than soy sauce, but soy sauce will be okay if you can’t buy Braggs Aminos where you live)

Pour from blender into a large iron skillet. Heat to simmer. Add to thicken – cup water with 3 T. spelt flour mixed in.

This is the healthy gravy we use in our family. I hope you enjoy it!
I used to work for and study under, Dr. Paul Bragg, world-famous Naturopath, in the 1970s.
Here is the Bragg Aminos which I use in many recipes:

What an interesting recipe, Diana. I wonder if I could get away serving this at Thanksgiving. Maybe traditional gravy for the pickies and this one for me and anyone else who wants it!

Hi Alice! Sorry I’m so late in responding — Did you use my Cashew Gravy recipe for Canadian Thanksgiving? We did, and I need to get photos up… Yes, you are right, you may need to have traditional gravy for those who want it, but this gravy is great even during times other than holidays. Thanks for your input! Diana

Alice – did you try fresh mushrooms? I think that is a wonderful idea. This is such a healthy and delicious recipe, and adding fresh mushrooms would be great. Diana
