Salt Cravings, Alcohol Cravings
I have just had an enquiry from Janet on my blog here:
http://thecravingscoach.com/blog/why-do-i-have-salt-cravings/#comments
Janet is asking –
I have a client who is depressed ( taking supplements) and a drinking problem. She also has high blood pressure (takes meds)and craves salt. Any suggestions? thanks
My response is:
When there are so many factors involved, there must be an imbalance in the body, and also lack of nutrition. The body is mal-nourished.
When craving alcohol, and “having a drinking problem” – a person is naturally losing so many B vitamins and also trace minerals from the body – there is depletion over time.
Often craving salt can be a sign of adrenal exhaustion and/or lack of trace minerals.
See more information that I have supplied at both of these links:

There may be support for your client with spirulina, and also trace minerals and B vitamins. But that is just a start – this did not happen overnight, and it will take time to balance her body again.
Thanks for the question, Janet.
