If you have had these problems for a long time, hidden food allergies may be to blame.

The symptoms that are caused by hidden allergies seem to appear out of nowhere. For example, someone can suffer chronic headaches for years and not realize that they are experiencing pain because they continue to eat dairy. Instead, they believe that they have a tendency toward migraines and take prescription medication for the rest of their lives.

These types of allergies are becoming more prevalent in our society. When humanity ate whole foods that came with natural enzymes and minerals, hidden allergies were not common at all. However, over the last 50 to 75 years the average diet relies on processed food made with chemical additives. Our body chemistry does not know what to do with these foreign chemicals. The result is allergies and sensitivities.

Another benefit with using a gluten free diet is a weight loss regiment. Whether your goal is to lose weight or at least maintain where you are at, using a weight management program with your gluten free diet can really help you and your body to feeling better sooner.

Dandelion Root Health Liver Cleanse

Dandelion Root Liver CleanseDandelion Root Liver Cleanse

I’ve just completed a spring cleaning on my apartment – well, I am moving apartments, and in the process I cleaned out and gave away a lot of unnecessary items.  It feels so wonderful to “lighten up” and simplify.

We can do that for our bodies too.

Dandelion Root – Food for the Liver

Dandelion Root is known as a food for the liver, and is very high in calcium and other nutrients.  Some herbal texts mention dandelion’s ability to aid skin problems, detoxify poisons and toxic waste in the body, and act as a tonic to the stomach.  Dandelion is a natural source of protein, and is very high in Vitamins A, B, C, and E.  It is rich in potassium, calcium, and natural sodium, with some phosphorus and iron.

Some benefits noted by herbalists include:

•    Clears toxins
•    Cleans the liver
•    Promotes urination
•    Beneficial for arthritic conditions
•    Gentle, mild, natural Antibiotic
•    Inhibits bacteria and fungi
•    One of the most Detoxifying herbs
•    Beneficial for skin problems such as acne, eczema and psoriasis

Louise Tenney writes in Today’s Herbs: “The liver is our personal food storage.  Starches are stored in the liver, and changed to glycogen and released as the body needs energy-building material.  Fats are stored in the liver as well as proteins, where they are changed into amino acids.  White blood cells are manufactured in the liver to destroy germs and poisons, which come from the intestines.  The liver is responsible for the substance that causes blood to clot.  The liver also detoxifies.  It renders harmless the toxic end-products of the digestion process.  When the liver is working properly, it has the task of eliminating toxic metals.  When the liver is in trouble, it puts strain and congestion on all the glands, muscles, joints and the body structure.  Dandelion strengthens the liver with its easily assimilated minerals concentrated in the roots of the plant.”

Why should we Cleanse the Liver?

The liver is the largest organ in the human body.  It is extremely complex. The liver performs over 500 functions in the body – can you imagine if you had to perform 500 functions?  That is high demand on our poor liver!  Here are just some of the functions the liver performs:

1.  Purifies the blood
2.  Manufactures and secretes bile
3.  Stores 20% to 30% of your body’s blood
4.  Detoxifies – turns toxic materials into non-toxic material
5.  Creates, metabolizes, and stores Hormones
6.  Metabolizes Fat – affects triglycerides, cholesterol, blood and body fat levels
7.  Metabolizes Nutrients for Life: proteins, fats, carbohydrates

Signs of a Sluggish Liver

1.  Allergies
2.  Chemical Sensitivie
3.  Constipation
4.  Obesity
5.  PMS (Pre-menstrual syndrome)

Coffee Caffeine Harmful Pesticide Side Effects

I have written often about the harmful effects of Caffeine.

Here is one of my Original Blog Posts on Harmful Effects of Caffeine – that is what I wrote when I created my Cravings Coach Blog over 2 years ago.

I have only just learned that caffeine is really the way a plant protects itself from insects…… – did you know that? So the coffee bean protects itself, it is nature’s way of protecting it from being eaten by insects and bugs.

In other words, the caffeine is a natural plant PESTICIDE!

Can you believe it?

We are definitely eating a poison!  A natural poison, but still a poison.

I remember on the beach in Hawaii, when I was working for Dr. Paul Bragg over 30 years ago… he would often talk about how people needed to get off coffee.

It certainly applies more today – with caffeine being in all the Sodas and Diet Sodas, in the Energy Drinks, in the upscale Lattes and coffees that everyone is addicted to!!

I just would encourage you to cut back on your caffeine consumption (and cut it out altogether if you can!).

Here is the way I was able to gain complete freedom from my addiction to 8 cups of coffee a day!  Sunrider Calli Tea came to my rescue 12 years ago!

Hope you are having a healthy and happy weekend, and remember to cut back on your caffeine!
